Our CSR Policy

ISPAD is committed to conserving resources and minimising its carbon footprint when organizing its annual conference. ISPAD strives to increase its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) whenever conference logistics allow.

This is why ISPAD is:

  • Continuing its efforts on a paperless conference: no final program, no bag insert, no paper posters.
  • Continuing its efforts towards a wasteless conference: no congress bag, no giveaways and no disposable water bottles.
  • Introducing an (optional) Carbon Contribution Reward within the registration process.
  • Organizing its yearly Active @ISPAD 5K Charity Run open to delegates, local population, patients and families, with the possibility to make a donation.
  • Encouraging local catering resources and recyclable equipment.
  • Supporting numerous Travel Grants.
  • Welcoming (reusable) built-in shell scheme booth systems.
  • Organizing virtual Poster Tours and using the ODIHO sound-in-silent technology that allows the use of personal headsets (instead of disposable devices).
  • Encouraging a 50/50 gender mix among its invited speakers and chairpersons.
  • Supporting the participation of Patient Advocates through sponsored registrations.
  • Sharing numerous joint symposia with Sister Societies to widen the scope of mutual assistance.
  • Sponsoring the registration of its pre-conference Science School participants.
  • Offering reduced fees to delegates from Low and Lower-Middle-Income Countries.
  • Giving free access to all to its Media Library and the content of its last scientific program, already three months after the end of the conference.
  • Choosing hotels within walking distance from its conference venue for its invited speakers and staff to avoid motorcoach transfers.
  • Welcoming the commitments made by the Palais des Congrès de Montréal and its partners.
